As indicated throughout Sec. 4., every new student arriving at Oglethorpe (regardless of whether the student is full-time or part-time; regardless of whether the student is in TU or ADP; and regardless of whether the student is a freshman, a transfer, a transient, joint enrolled, dual enrolled, or any other possibility or status) must be in compliance with Oglethorpe’s immunization policy.
It is the policy of the Oglethorpe to voluntarily comply with the mandatory immunization program established by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. These requirements include confirmation of immunity to measles, mumps and rubella (MMR), varicella (chicken pox), tetanus/diphtheria (Td) and hepatitis B, prior to registering for and attending any classes. The appropriate form is available online at https://health.oglethorpe.edu/immunizations/. Georgia law requires that students residing in campus housing be provided information on meningococcal disease and vaccination. Further information is available at https://health.oglethorpe.edu/immunizations/ or from the office of campus life or the office of residence life.
Oglethorpe also requires that all students be vaccinated against COVID-19 and remain up to date on COVID vaccinations. Up to date means that an individual has received all doses in the primary series and all recommended boosters, when eligible. Students attest to meeting this requirement as a condition of enrollment.
Students may apply for medical or religious accommodations related to this policy.
